Private Music Lessons

Ages 5+

Students of all ages and experience levels are invited to study piano or guitar with study piano or guitar with music instructors. During each 30-minute session, students are exposed to music theory and technique, classical note-reading, ear-training, diverse and varied repertoire. Students also have the option to set their own goals and personalized interests, such as jazz emphasis, reading lead sheets, playing and singing, accompaniment, and playing pop hits by ear.

Private Vocal Lessons

Ages 6+

Do you have a passion for singing, but would like some coaching to enhance your vocals? Our vocal instructors will help guide you by teaching proper warm-ups, breathing techniques and more! Whether you are looking for pointers on an upcoming audition or overall conditioning, this class will help teach you the skills to get you there. Participants are responsible for bringing and purchasing sheet music for lessons.

Meet Our Instructors

Mr. Steve

Steven has been teaching both private and group music lessons between age 5 and 75 since 2003. With over 10,000 hours of instructing music lessons, Steven has the experience necessary to communicate proper proficiency on your instrument. Please read testimonials on his website to get an idea of the lesson experience you'll have together.

After majoring in music at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn IL, Steven went to step up his level of study at the Percussion Institute of Technology (P.I.T.) at Musician's Institute in Los Angeles, CA from 2001-2002.

With local, regional, national, and international touring experience, Steven was featured in an exclusive interview for Online Drummer in August of 2011 sharing his knowledge and experience of music and drums.

Mr. James

James (Jamey) McDunn is an ASCAP-affiliated, Award Winning Songwriter. He holds a Master of Music Education degree from the VanderCook College of Music. He is endorsed to teach Music through the Illinois State Board of education, He has been teaching private Piano, Guitar and Voice lessons for the last 9 years. Prior to that, he enjoyed a long and stellar career in Non-Equity and Community Theater. His favorite roles include Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks (Annie), The Mayor (Seussical) and the Stage Manager(Our Town). If he had a favorite song, it would probably be one he wrote.

Mr. Josh

Josh is a composer, producer, instrumentalist, and music educator from Wheaton, Illinois. He attended Columbia College Chicago, where he earned his BA with a focus on music composition. His work centers on composition, production, performance, and arrangement. As a musician, Josh creates tracks for animated and live-action short films, as well as his personal projects like his ongoing Dungeons and Dragons soundtrack, which features over 80 musical tracks. As an instrumentalist, he has played cello for fourteen years and performed in a variety of Columbia's ensembles. Josh has broadened his musical skills by learning trombone, bass guitar, violin, and ukulele during his high school and college years.
